(Pineville, KY) Pineville Lady Lions Seek Repeat District Title with Returning Stars

The Pineville Lady Lions are roaring into the 2024 season with their sights set on another banner year. After a successful 2023 campaign that saw them finish 12-10 overall, 11-9 in the 13th region, and capture the 51st district championship, the Lady Lions return a core group of experienced players ready to make another deep run.

Leading the charge is the "Rifleman" of the pitching circle, So. Rachel Howard. Known for her pinpoint accuracy and devastating control, Howard's pitching prowess earned her the playful comparison to the legendary marksman (The Rifleman) Chuck Connors. Behind the plate, Jr. catcher Addison Slone provides a steady presence, calling the game with a keen understanding of her pitchers' strengths and weaknesses. Offensively, the Lady Lions rely on the consistent bat of junior slugger Baileigh Bargo, who brings power and contact to the lineup.

While Pineville boasts a talented core, the road to another district title won't be a cakewalk. Several teams in the region are poised for strong seasons also.

A Key matchup to watch

April 29th: Pineville vs. Corbin - A battle between two of the region's best, with Howard facing off against Corbin's potent offense.

With a potent offense, a lockdown pitcher, and a strong leadership core, the Pineville Lady Lions are primed for another successful season. Whether they can repeat as district champions will depend on their ability to navigate a competitive schedule and stay focused throughout the year. One thing is certain - the 13th Region softball scene is about to get exciting, and Pineville will be right in the thick of it.

Maybe nobody else remembers (The Rifleman)
