(Middlesboro, KY) Panthers easily defeated Middlesboro 12-2 on Tuesday night.
Knox Central gets on the board first when Brady Engle hit his first homerun of his career to left field was a solo homerun.
Middlesboro jumped back into the lead in the bottome of the first inning after Malachi Coots singled, and Colt Bayless hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Knox Central flipped the game on its head in the top of the second inning, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 6-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Austin Bargo after a 6 pitch at-bat that drove in two.
A double by Engle, and a single by Bargo helped the Panthers extend their lead early in the third inning.
Jaden Broughton earned the win for the Panthers. They surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Case Bayless took the loss for the Yellow Jackets. They went two and two-thirds innings, giving up nine runs on ten hits, striking out two and walking two. Grant Miller tossed two innings of scoreless ball for the Panthers in relief. Miller allowed two hits, striking out four and walking none.
Knox Central had 10 hits on the game. Bargo went 3/4 at the plate to lead the Panthers in hits. Engle and Davis each collected multiple hits for the Panthers. Bargo stole four bases. Knox Central stole seven bases as a team. Knox Central were sure-handed and didn't commit an error. Davis made the post plays with seven. Bayless and Coots were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Middlesboro. Issac Harris and Bayless, each collected two hits for Middlesboro. Middlesboro turned on double play in the game.
