(Pineville, KY) A very early season big matchup between the Pineville Lady Lions and the defending 13th Region Champions the South Laurel Lady Cardinals.
Robbie Partin was looking to make a big statement win early in the season when they host the defending 13th Region Champions.
The game was scoreless through four innings. Both Rachel Howard and Kenzie Williams was both dealing through the first four innings
In the top of the fifth inning a single by Morgan Jackson on a 0-2 count put South Laurel on the board up 2-0.
Jackson led South Laurel with two runs batted in. She went 2-4 on the day. South Laurel didn't commit an error. Bailey Kilburn made the most plays with 18.
Kenzie Williams earned the win for South Laurel, she gave up zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 18 and walking none. Williams had a perfect game and a no hitter as well in the process. Rachel Howard took the lose for the Pineville Lady Lions. They went seven innings, allowing five (two earned) on four hits, striking out 19 and walking four.
Robby Partin and the Pineville Lady Lions will be back in action tomorrow evening (weather depending) as they travel to Harlan County to take on the Harlan County Lady Black Bears game time at 6:00 PM.
Carly Mink and the South Laurel will back in action Saturday as they travel to Jackson, KY to take on the Breathitt County Lady Cats game time at 1:00 PM
