
The Whitley County Colonels put on a dominant display Saturday, overpowering the Pulaski County Maroons by a score of 13-3. The win marked back-to-back victories for the Colonels and extended their lead in the win column.
The Colonels wasted no time getting on the board. After a scoreless first inning, Whitley County plated three runs in the second. An EJ Allen sacrifice fly brought in one run, followed by a Matthew Wright double that scored two more. The momentum continued to swing in Whitley County's favor in the third inning, where they exploded for a whopping six runs.
Leading the offensive charge was Bryce Anderson, who had a day to remember at the plate. Anderson went a stellar 3-for-4, driving in a team-high five RBIs. His biggest contribution came in the sixth inning when he blasted a bases-clearing double, scoring three runs. Earlier in the game, Anderson smacked a single in the third inning that plated two more runs.
Matthew Wright continued the offensive onslaught for the Colonels, contributing three RBIs of his own. Hunter Wilson chipped in with a pair of RBIs, showcasing the depth of Whitley County's batting attack.
On the mound, Christian Wilson secured the win for the Colonels. Wilson pitched effectively, striking out three batters and throwing a total of 37 strikes. The Whitley County pitching staff kept the Pulaski County offense in check, limiting them to just three runs.
With this win, the Colonels improve their record to a solid 7-5. They'll look to build on their momentum as they continue their season.
