(Barbourville, KY) Ella Farley drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Lady Dragons past the Lady Panthers on Monday evening. Farley tripled in the fourth inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring one.
Harlan rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-2 in the third inning.
Lady Dragons got on the bard in the first inning after Ava Nunez singled, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Lady Panthers went back into the lead after Hannah Melton grounded out and Blankely Castle doubled, each scoring one run.
Farley grounded out, which helped the Lady Dragons tie the game at two in the top of the third inning.
Lady Panthers captured the lead in the bottom of the third inning when an error scored one run, Autumn Bryant hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.
Lady Dragons flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth inning, scoring seven runs on nine hits to take a 12-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Abby Fields that drove in two.
Mallory McNiel opened up the game for the Lady Dragons. She allowed two hits and six runs (one earned) over four innings, strikeing out three and walking one. Castle opened up the game for the Lady Panthers. She gave up 19 hits and 12 runs (nine earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. Jordyn Smith appeared in relief for the Lady Dragons.
Harlan tallied up 19 hits in the game. Addison Jackson went 4-5 for the game. Ella Lisenbee, Gracie Hensley, Nunez, Smith, and Estes each collected multiple hits for the Lady Dragons. They also stole 5 bases in the game.
Castle provided the pop in the middles of the lineup for the Lady Panthers with 2 runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-3 on the day. Jayme Swafford stole two bases. Lady Panthers ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game.
