Jackson County moves on

In a matchup with two 13th Region heavyweights, the Jackson County Lady Generals emerged victorious over Lynn Camp with a hard fought 3-0 win. The game showcased exceptional pitching performances from Candice Williams and Jorja Carnes, who put on a clinic on the mound.

Jorja Carnes demonstrated her prowess by surrendering five hits and three runs, striking out eight batters while walking two. Meanwhile, Candice Williams displayed her dominance by giving up five hits but no runs, striking out an impressive twelve batters and issuing no walks.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when Jackson County exploded for three runs. Lexi Brockman grounded out, driving in one run, before Candice Williams capped off the inning with a powerful homer to left field, scoring two more runs.

With this victory, Jackson County improves to a 10-3 record and advances in the 13th Region All "A" Classic, with their next game set against Pineville. On the other hand, Lynn Camp, with a record of 7-6, will look to bounce back as they travel to face Corbin next Monday.
