Lady Cats defeat Lady Jackets 14-10

(Pineville, KY) After last night's game in Middlesboro, tonight we shift it to at Bell County. The Scoring was at a high performance. Would tonight be the same way?

 

The Lady Jackets got on the board first in the top of the first inning, when Yoakum hit a ground ball and reached on an error allowed both Lawson and Betts to score, Middlesboro takes the early lead 2-0 but the Lady Cats was able to strikeout the side to get out of the inning.

 

In the bottom of the first inning the Lady Cats get started with back-to-back singles by Maiden and Fetters. Boateng hits a ground ball to the third baseman and reached on an error allowed Maiden to score. The Lady Cats trimmed the Lady Jackets lead to 2-1. Thomas reaches on an error allowes Boateng to advance to third base. Lucas pop fly to center field but she reaches on an error to tie the game at 2 a piece. The Lady Jackets was able to get out of the inning.

 

In the top of the second inning the Lady Jackets Allen triples to right field, Jackson grounds out to the pitcher run didn't score. Patrin singles to right field allowing Allen to score making the score 3-2 Middlesboro. Lawson flies out. Betts singles to Center allowing Partin to score making it 4-2 Middlesboro. 

 

In the bottom of the second inning the Lady Cats started the inning with a single by Rose, Double by Scott, a single by Maiden allowing Scott and Rose to score, making it a tie game at 4. Fetters answers with a single to give the Lady Cats the lead at 5-4. Single by Boateng, Lucas reaches on error allowing Boateng to score making it 7-4 Bell County. Middlesboro gets out of the inning with back-to-back strikeouts.

 

In the top of the third inning, Allen grounds out allowing Seigler to score, making it a 7-5 Bell County lead.

 

In the bottom of the third inning, Rose singles to right field. Fetters comes up to the plate (Rose steals to second base, advances on a pass ball to third base, and steals home) allowing Bell County to add to their lead 8-5 Bell County.

 

In the Top of the fourth inning, Triple by Yoakum allowes Betts to score to make the score 8-7 Bell County. Single by Lawson. Moyers reaches on an error allowing Lawson to score to tie the game at 8. Double by Middleton gives the Lady Jackets the 9-8 lead.

 

In the bottom of the fourth inning, single by Rose allows Lucas to score to tie the game at 9. Maiden hits a pop up reaches on a error allows Foster to score to give the Lady Cats the lead at 10-9. Single by Fetters allows Rose and Maiden both to score to extend the lead 12-9 Bell County.

 

In the top of the fifth inning, all the Lady Jackets could do was a single.

 

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lucas doubles to left field. Lawson hits a ground ball to the left fielder allows Lucas to score to extend their lead 13-9. 

 

In the top of the sixth inning, the Lady Jackets add a run off of Middleton double to center field to make the score 13-10.

 

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Cats add a single by Boateng to allow Scott to score to extend the lead 14-10.

 

As we go to the top of the seventh inning, the Lady Jackets need 4 runs to extend the game, Jackson grounds out, Partin grounds out, and Lawson grounds out.

Bell County was lead by several players that helped the Lady Cats get the win: Fetters went 3-4 with 2 RBI's. Boateng went 3-5 with a RBI. Rose went 3-4 with a RBI

 

Scott got the win for the Lady Cats she went 7.0 inning 10 Hits 10 Runs 3 Earned Runs (7 unearned) 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.

 

K A Lawson went 3.0 innings 11 Hits 8 Runs 6 Earned Runs (2 unearned) 1 strikeouts. Came into relief K Lawson went 3.0 innings 6 Hits 6 Runs 2 earned runs (4 unearned), 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.

 

Quote from Bell County Head Coach David Teague, "Good win for our team tonight! I thought the kids battled and we hit the ball well all through the lineup. We have a young team and hopefully this game gives them some confidence moving forward.

 

Up Next for the Lady Jackets, they will be back in action on the road on Thursday as they will travel to Corbin, KY to take on the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats, game-time is set for 6:00 PM.
