
(Pineville, KY) The Harlan County Lady Black Bears and the Pineville Lady Lions did battle on Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning thanks to two singles by Adams, and Howard to give the Lady Lions a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning Slone double allowing Johnson to score, extending the Lady Lions lead to 3-0. A triple by Adams allowing Evans and Maiden both to score giving the Lady Lions a 5-0 a lead. A single by Howard allowing Adams to score to make the score 6-0. A double by Smith extends the lead to 7-0.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Slone extends the Lady Lions lead to 8-0 on a RBI single. A walk by Adams extends to 9-0.
The Lady Black Bears got on the board in the top of the sixth inning after a Skidmore tiple and a ground ball out by Blair makes the score 9-1 Pineville.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, a double by Howard, allowed Maidon and Turner to score.

Alyssa Sherman took the loss for the Lady Black Bears, she went 2.2 innings, 9 Hits, 7 runs, 7 earned runs, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts. Came into relief was Adams, she went 2.1 innings, 4 hits, 4 runs, 4 earned runs, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts.
Pineville improves to 7-5 on the year, Harlan County falls to 5-16 on the years.
