
(Corbin, KY) The Middlesboro Lady Jackets and the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats did battle on Thursday Night. While Lynn Camp was a little short players tonight, would the Lady Wildcats find a way to get the victory.
Jorja Carns started in the circle for the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats.
Kenna Lawson started in the circle for the Middlesboro Lady Jackets.
Middlesboro got on the board first in the top of the first inning after Raeghan Moyers grounded out and she reached on a Lady Wildcats error.
In the bottom of the first inning the Lady Wildcats would answer with two runs, thanks to Jorja Carnes single allowing Henize and Partin to score. The game would be tied after one inning of play.
In the bottom of the second inning the Lady Wildcats would add a run to take the 3-2 lead thanks to Partin ground out allowing Hendrickson to score. Then in the bottom of the third inning a triple by Weymers allows Carnes to score to make it 4-2 lead. In the bottom of the fourth inning, a pop fly to the second baseman allowed Hendrickson to tag up to increase the Lady Wildcats lead to 5-2. Then Steele delivers a 1 out single to allow Henize to score to make it 6-2. A double by Carnes allows Prewitt to score making it 7-2 lead. Moore gets in on the scoring when she delivers a double making it 8-2.
It looks like the Lady Wildcats was going to run away with this one as we head to the 5th inning, but hold your horses, the Lady Jackets 5 runs in the top of the 5th inning, thanks to a double by Yoakum, a single by Moyers, a fielder's choice by Lawson, and a triple by Middleton to trim the Lady Wildcats lead down to two, making the score 8-6.
In the top of the sixth inning, Betts double to left field trims the lead down to one, making the score 8-7 Lynn Camp.
Lady Wildcats was held scoreless in the bottom of the sixth inning.
As we go to the top of the seventh inning, can the Lady Wildcats finish the job and get the victory. Carnes gets Lawson to Pop out for the first out of the inning. A ground out by Middleton to make the second out of the inning. Carnes gets the first two outs of the seventh inning, but the last out wouldn't come that easy. A walk by Helton. Then Jackson comes up and delievers a double to put the go ahead player in scoring position. Then Jorja Carnes shuts the door with a strikeout.
The Lady Wildcats survive a Lady Jackets come back effort to get the win.
