(London, KY) It's round number 2 of the Battle of Laurel County between the South Laurel Lady Cardinals and the North Laurel Lady Jaguars. Round one went to South Laurel 9-6. Who would win round number 2. Would South Laurel win on there home turf or would North Laurel win on the road? North Laurel leads the over all series over South Laurel 30-18 (This is since 1998, as far as KHSAA will go back).
North Laurel would get on the board first thanks to a big first inning when the Lady Jaguars would score 8 runs in the inning. Ellie Adams singled, Emma Carl singled. Morgan Edwards single. Katie Sams singled. Saige McClure singled.
The Lady Jaguars added to there early lead in the second inning when Morgan Edwards would hit an sacrifice fly, then Katie Keen would double each player scoring one run.
In the third inning two more runs would score thanks to a RBI doubles by Adams and Carl both.
Emma Carl earned the win for the Lady Jaguars. she went five inning, allowing one hit on two runs, striking out five and walking two.
Aubrey Likins took the loss for the Lady Cardinals. she went five innings, allowing 12 runs (nine earned) on 15 hits, striking out one and walking two.
