(London, KY) It's the annual Martin's Peterbilt Jon Hooker Memorial Tournament held at North Laurel High School. Game one featured the South Laurel Lady Cardinals out of the 13th Region verses the Rockcastle County Lady Rockets out of the 12th Region.
The Lady Cardinals got on the board first after a walk by Bailey Fraizer, allowed one run to score.
The Lady Rockets took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when an error scored two runs then Dunaway singled, allowed the third run to score in the inning. Rockcastle took the lead 3-1.
A passball allowed Jackson to score to trim the Lady Rockets lead down to 3-2. Then in the sixth inning, a sacrifice fly by Baker ties the game at 3.
In the top of the seventh inning, Horn single allows both Ertel and Bretz to score, for the Lady Cardinals to take a 5-3 lead. They would go on to win the game by that same score.
Kenzie Williams started the game for the Lady Cardinals. Holcomb started the game for the Lady Rockets.
Kenzie Williams got the win for the Lady Cardinals, she went a complete game, allowing 4 hits, 3 Runs, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts.
Holcomb took the loss for the Lady Rockets, she went 3.2 innings, she allowed 4 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 4 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Hensley came into pitch in relief, she went 3.1 innings, she allowed 1 hit, 2 runs (1 earned), 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts.
