Jaguars edge Cardinals in cross-town showdown in round number 2 (8-3)

(London, KY) Round number 2 of the cross-town showdown between the North Laurel Jaguars and the South Laurel Cardinals.

 

The North Laurel Jaguars got on the board first when Eli Holt singled, allowing one run to score.

 

The South Laurel Cardinals took back the lead in the top of the second inning when Jack Vaughn singled, and then Hunter Bundy hit into a fielder's choice, each playing allowing one run to score.

 

Then in the bottom of the fourth inning, the North Laurel Jaguars took back the lead when Cooper Elza singled, Cam Smith singled, and Eli Holt grounded out.

 

J. Douglas Gilliam earned the win for the North Laurel Jaguars he went six innings, allowed three hits on three runs, striking out six and walking six.

 

Keaton Creech took the loss for the South Laurel Cardinals, he went three innings, giving up six hits on four runs, striking out four and walking two batters.

 

Up Next, for the South Laurel Cardinals, they will be back in action on Saturday as they will host the Jackson County Generals, game-time is set for 2:00 PM.
