(Versailles, KY) The Whitley County Colonels take the long trip to Central Kentucky to take on the Woodford County Yellow Jackets.
Both Whitley County and Woodford County was very strong at the plate they collected 31 hits on 23 runs, and 8 errors committed.
Yellow Jackets got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning when Ryan Cecil doubled scoring two runs.
The Colonels was able to answer in the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead thanks to singles by EJ Allen and Bryce Anderson.
Woodford County was able to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning when Ryan Celi homers to left, and Justus Wertzler singled. Then in the bottom of the fifth inning they broke up the tie when Collin Kemp sacrifice fly scoring one run. A single by Brayden Burton followed up to extend the lead to 6-4.
Was able to capture the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Chris Cureton walked. Then Allen doubled scoring one run. THen Anderson singled to give the Colonels the 10-8 lead.
Woodford County was able to tie it in the bottom of the seventh inning to send it to extra inning and talk about extra innings this one would go a long time.
In the top of the ninth inning, the Colonels broke up the tie when Allen doubled, and Anderson singled to make it 10-8 Whitley County.
In the bottom of the ninth inning the Yellow Jackets was able to tie the game thanks to single by Brandon Bishop and a walk by Taylor Penn
In the top of the twelfth inning an error gave the Colonels a 12-10 lead.
Tyler Rose earned the win for the Whitley County Colonels
JB Martin took the loss for the Woodford County Yellow Jackets.
