Whitley County looks very solid early on this season, securing a decisive victory over a rally good Jackson County team in a three-set match. The win has further quelled any doubts about the team's ability to replace several key starters from last season.
The Lady Colonels started the game with a bang, taking control of the first set with a commanding a 25-15 win. They maintained their momentum in the second set, cruising a 25-14 victory. The third set was no different, as Whitley County dominated from start to finish, winning 25-10.
Auburey Clemens and Addison Siler led the offensive charge for the Colonels, contributing 13 and 12 kills, respectively. Jonna Rice played a pivotal role in facilitating the team's offense, tallying 26 assists and four aces.
