
The Perry County Central Lady Commodores secured a dominant 10-0 victory over the Whitley County Lady Colonels in a high school softball matchup. The Commodores' offense exploded in the fourth inning, while their pitching staff shut down the Colonels' batters.
Leading the charge for Perry County was Ashlyn Dixon, who went on a tear at the plate. Dixon's highlight being a booming home run that sailed over the left-field fence in the bottom of the third inning. Her bat contributed a crucial RBI to the Commodores' scoring spree.
Kaitlyn Grigsby was another offensive force for Perry County. Not only did she launch a towering home run to center field, driving in 2 runs for her team. Grigsby wasn't done there. In the pitcher's circle, she dominated, striking out an impressive 4 batters and throwing a total of 41 strikes.
While the Commodores' offense and pitching were on point, it's worth noting Whitley County's Kara Canada's valiant effort on the mound. Canada battled through the game, racking up 3 strikeouts and throwing a total of 45 strikes.
This win undoubtedly strengthens Perry County Central's position in their league. The Lady Commodores will look to capitalize on this momentum in their upcoming games.
