Black Bears get a big victory over Yellow Jackets 13-3

(Williamsburg, KY) The Black Bears hit the road to Williamsburg, KY to take on the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets

Alex Creech drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Black Bears past the Yellow Jackets. Creech hit a grand slam to left field in the seventh inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring one.

Yellow Jackets opened the scoring in the first inning after Isaiah Sizemore hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Black Bears flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 5-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Isaac Kelly that drove in two.

Six more Black Bears runs crossed the plate in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 1303. Creech hit a grand slam to left field, and Will Cassim doubled, scoring two runs.

Jesse Gilbert earned the win for the Black bears, he allowed seven hits and three runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Henry Bowling took the loss for the Yellow Jackets., he went four innings, surrendering six runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking none. Zayden Cassolari three one inning of zero run ball for the Black Bears in relief, he allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

Harlan County piled up 15 hits in the game. Tristan Cooper led the Black Bears with three hits in five at bats. Jonah Swanner, Kelly, and Samuel Henson each collected multiple hits for the Black Bears. 

Sizemore led the team with one run batted in . Trevor Neace and Jacob Jones each collected two hits for the Yellow Jackets, they also turned two double plays in the game.
