Lady Black Bears can't contain Eagles in Cal Ripken Experience

Pigeon Forge, TN) It was game number 3 of the Cal Ripken Experience for the Harlan County Lady Black Bears, there opponent was the Madison Southern Eagles.

 

Anna Kate Cress collected three hits in four at bats, as the Madison Southern Eagles defeated the Harlan County Lady Black Bears 14-3 on Tuesday.

 

A ground out by Lady Eagles Lexie Keener put the Eagles on the board first in the top of the first inning. Madison Southern added to there lead in the top of the third inning after Lexie Keener tripled, and Chloe Rison singled, each scoring one run. Lady Eagles scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Allie Wilson singled, scoring two runs, Ashlyn Estep singled, scoring one run, Anna Kate Cress doubled, scoring two runs, Belle Strunk grounded out, scoring one run, and Lydia Grinstead drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Harlan County scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on a inside the park Home run by Aviya Halcomb.

 

Belle Strunk got the victory for the Lady Eagles, she surrendered three hits and three runs over five innings of work. She had 6 strikeouts and walked none. Alexis Adams took the loss for the Lady Black Bears, she went five innings of work, allowing 14 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits, she had five strikeouts and walked five.

 

Lady Eagles collected 14 hits in the game. Lexie Keener provided the pop in the middle of the lineup for the Lady Eagles. She had 3 runs batted in and went 2-3 on the day. Cress and Wilson each collected three hits. Rison and Taylor Reeves each collected multiple hits. Estep stole two bases.  Madison Southern accumulated five walks for the game. They also stole five bases and turned one double play on defense.

 

Maddy Blair, Jade Burton, and Halcomb each collected one hit for the Lady Black Bears. Halcomb went 1-2 at the plate and had three runs batted in.
