Colonels Firing on All Cylinders, Beats Glasgow 12-2

(Bowling Green, KY) In a thrilling display of offensive process and pitching dominance, the Whitley County Colonels delivered an impressive performance, overpowering Glasgow with a resounding 12-2 victory. Despite an early lead by the Scotties in the top of the first inning, Whitley County quickly turned the tide, unleashing of runs to secure a decisive win in just six innings.

 

The game started with Glasgow scoring two runs in the opening innings, seemingly setting the tone for a completive matchup. However, the Colonels  wasted no time in responding, showcasting their offensive firepower to completely dominate the remainder of the game.

 

The turning point came in the bottom of the third inning when Whitley County exploded with an impressive six-run rally. Led by Chris Cureton and Jerrod Croley, who both delivered crucial hits to drive in runs. Additionally, a series of defensive errors by the Scotties further fueled the Colonels offensive surge, allowing them to extend their lead significantly.

 

On the pitching front, Bradyn Bargo delivered a stellar performance, earning the win for the Colonels with a masterful display of control and composure on the mound. Despite facing early adversity, Bargo showcased his resilience, allowing just three hits and two runs, both unearned, over four innings of work.

 

Tyler Rose and Kip Allen contributed shutout innings in relief, effectively shutting down any hopes of a Glasgow comeback.

 

Offensively, the Colonels displayed balanced production throughout the lineup, with contributions coming from multiple players. Jason Nunley's two runs batted in and RJ Osborne's team-leading two hits were just a few highlights of Whitley County's offensive outburst.

 

Whitley County improves to a solid 9-7 record on the season, setting the stage for continued success as they look ahead to their upcoming matchup against the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets at home on April 8th.
