
It was a back-and-forth battle on the diamond as the Barbourville Tigers clashed with Perry County Central, but ultimately, the Tigers fell short with a final score of 7-4.
The game started with a bang as Connor West of the Barbourville Tigers stepped up to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly, putting his team on the scoreboard early with a run. However, Perry County Central wasted no time in responding, tying the game at one in the bottom of the first inning after a groundout.
Undeterred, Barbourville quickly regained the lead in the top of the second inning when Caiden Miracle delivered a timely single, driving in a run and pushing the Tigers ahead 2-1. But Perry County Central bounced back in the bottom of the second with a single from Nolan Wooten and a walk drawn by Derrick Fields, each resulting in a run scored and putting Perry County Central back in the lead.
The game remained tight as errors came into play in the top of the third inning, allowing Barbourville to capitalize and score two runs, reclaiming the lead with a score of 4-3.
Perry County Central put up four unanswered runs, pulling away from Barbourville and securing the victory with a final score of 7-4.
Throughout the game, standout performances were seen from players on both sides. Luke Hillard, Ty Clark, Colby Peters, and Caiden Miracle of Barbourville each contributed with a hit.
