Cardinals win a close one against Colonels 4-0

(London, KY) The Whitley County Colonels and the South Laurel Cardinals did battle in London as they both play in a key 50th District game.

 

Cardinals opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Hensley grounded out to the shortstop allowing Bundy to score. After one inning of play the South Laurel Cardinals lead 1-0. In the second inning both teams went scoreless, still making it 1-0 South Laurel. In the bottom of the third inning, a single by Vaughn. Then a sacrifice bunt by Creech advances the runner to second base. Then a walk by Bundy. Another sacrifice bunt this time by Sizemore. Then a hit by pitch allows a run to score increasing the Cardinals lead to 2-0. Then a steal of home Bundy makes it 3-0 Cardinals. In the bottom of the fourth inning, a single by  Creech scores Curry to make it 4-0 South Laurel. 

 

That was all the Cardinals would need as they take down the Colonels 4-0

 

Up Next for each team they will meet tomorrow in Williamsburg as they play game number 2 at Whitley County High School, game-time is at 6:00 PM
