Lady Dragons beat Lady Black Bears 12-8

(Harlan, KY) In a cross-town showdown between the Harlan Lady Dragons and the Harlan County Lady Black Bears.

 

Harlan Lady Dragons opened up the scoring in the bottom of the third inning thanks to three walks. One of the runs was by Jordyn Smith drew one of the three walks that led to a run.

 

Lady Black Bears scored three runs in the top of the fourth thanks to a home run to left field by Estep.

 

The Lady Dragons added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth innings, when Addison Jackson drew a walk. Estep singled, and then Abby Fields homered to center field, allowing two runs to runs.

 

The Lady Black Bears scored two runs in the top of the seventh innings on a two run home run by  Burton.

 

Adams started in the circle for the Harlan County Lady Black Bears, she went 6 innings, giving up 7 hits on 12 runs 8 of them was earned, walking 11 batters, and striking out 5. She took the loss for the Lady Black Bears.

 

Mallory McNiel stepped in the circle for Harlan Lady Dragons, she went 3 innings, giving up 1 hit on 2 runs one of them was earned, walking 1 batter, and striking out two.

 

Smith went 4 innings in relief, giving up 5 hits giving up 6 runs while 4 of them was earned, walking 3 batters and striking out 1.

 

Harlan will finish the regular season at 12-18 on the season. There next game will be in the 52nd District Tournament

 

Up Next for the Harlan County Lady Black Bears, they will be back in action on Thursday they will host the Knox Central Lady Panthers in the final regular season finale, game-time is set for 6:00 PM
