Tigers scores 4 unanswered runs to edge Bobcats 6-4 to advance to the 13th Region Championship game

(Barbourville, KY) It's the Semi-finals of the 13th Region Baseball Tournament, game one will feature the champions out of the 49th District the Clay County Tigers verses the runners-up out of the 52nd District the Bell County Bobcats.

 

The Bobcats got on the board first when Blake Burnett hits a 1 out Single to score Cooper Brock making the score 1-0 Bell County.  Then Jackson Walters reaches on an error allowing Blake Burnett to score making the score 2-0.

 

The Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning thanks to Hayden Crockett allowing Ethan Jackson to score to trim the Bobcat lead to 2-1. Then Grayson Hooker steals home to tie the game at 2.

 

The Bobcats took back to lead when Joseph Grigmon hits a solo homerun to Center field to take the lead 3-2 in the top of the fourth inning. Then also in the top of the fourth inning, when Hunter Fusan scores on a pass ball to make the score 4-2.

 

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Brandin Crawford hits a double allowing Talan Marcum to score to make it 4-3 Bell County. The Tigers tied the game at 4 when Tyson Wagers singled allowing Grayson Hooker to score.

 

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Grayson Hooker singled, allowing two runs to score, making the score 6-4 Clay County.

Blake Burnett started on the mound for the Bobcats, he went 5.0 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 4 runs (2 earned), 6 walks, and 8 Strikeouts (He took the loss for the Bobcats). Joseph Grigmon went 0.1 inning, gave up 1 hit.

 

Talan Marcum started on the mound for the Tigers, he went 3.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 4 runs (1 earned), 1 walk, and 3 Strikeouts. Brandin Crawford, he went 3.1 innings, he had 1 walk, and had 8 Strikeouts. Crawford took the win for the Tigers.
