Lady Cardinals score 5 unanswered runs to edge Lady Generals to advance to the 13th Region Championship game 6-4

(Corbin, KY) It's the 13th Region Fast Pitch Tournament, game number one features the runners-up out of the 50th District the South Laurel Lady Cardinals verses the runners-up out of the 49th District the Jackson County Lady Generals.

 

Jackson County got on the board first in the top of the first inning, thanks to a single by Brockman scored one run. Sallee reached on an error, scored two runs, making it 3-0 Jackson County.

 

In the bottom of the first inning the Lady Cardinals got on the board when a dropped third strike allowed one run to score to make the score 3-1 Lady Generals.

 

The score remained 3-1 until the top of the sixth inning when the Lady Generals added a run to make it 4-1 when a walk by Starcher.

 

Then in the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Lady Cardinals answers with 5 runs, thanks to a Sacrifice fly, scores one run. A double by Lawson scores two runs. Then a single by Horn scores one run.

Kenzie Williams started in the circle for the Lady Cardinals, she went 7.0 innings, she gave up 4 hits on 4 runs (1 earned runs), 5 walks, and 8 strikeouts. She got the win for the Lady Cardinals.

 

Candice Williams started in the circle for the Lady Generals, she went 6.0 innings, she gave up 4 hits on 6 runs (5 earned), 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts. she took the loss for the Lady Generals.

 

South Laurel will advance the 13th Region Fast Pitch Tournament Championship game will play the winner of the North Laurel Lady Jaguars or the Corbin Lady Redhounds tomorrow evening at 6:00 PM
