
The streak ends
South Laurel Cardinals took their first loss today with a loss to Strongsville Ohio. With a 6-1 loss the perfect season run has came to an end. The Cardinals put up a hard fight. There bats was on they just kept hitting it right to the Outfielder’s. There pitching efforts on the mound were spot on but there was some struggles along the way. With some errors in the field that costed them some runs the Cardinals didn’t stop fighting. Coach Trey Smith was a force of a coach attempting to push the Cardinals to another level of game play today. Coach Trey Smith at every point of the game was pushing his team and supporting them and attempting to make them better as the game went on.
Keaton Smith and Tyler Curry were the driving forces on the mound today. Keaton started the game lasting 5 inning and Tyler Curry finished the last two. The pitching duo put up an excellent fight today.
Waylon Hensley was a force on shortstop putting in some of the most impressive outs and plays for the Cardinals. With Jack Vaughn’s efforts on first that resulted in a lot of saves that helped them get outs and prevent runs. Jack Vaughn and Waylon Hensley were the driving force in the field that kept giving the Cardinals a glimpse of hope throughout the game.
The team batted amazing though out the game they just couldn’t manage to get it away from the fielders resulting in outs. With strong hits and fast runners when they got on base the Cardinals still stood a chance throughout the game. The Cardinals ended up falling short in the end though resulting in there first loss of the season.
