Rachel Howard leads Lady Lions past Williamsburg

(Williamsburg, KY) Rachel Howard was dominant in the circle for the Lady Lions she had 10 strikeouts in the game, while only allowing five hits and three runs over five innings while only walking four hitters.

 

Nadine Johnson in her season debut for the Lady Lions collected three hits in four at bats in the win, she singled in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.

 

Lady Lions jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Malley smith tripled, scoring three runs, Nadine Johnson singled, and scoring one run. Baileigh Bargo drew a walk, scoring one run, and Kameran Evans drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Pineville extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third inning thanks to a RBI singles by Kenzie Laws and Rayann Maidon.

 

Lady Lions scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Nadine Johnson singled, scoring two runs. Howard singled, scoring two runs. Bargo singled, scoring two runs. Evans was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

 

Kyli Monhollen opened the game for the Lady Jackets. 

 

Lady Lions tallied 13 hits in the game. Howard and Johnson each collected three hits. Smith and Johnson drove in three runs. Bargo and Madison Johnson each collected multiple hits for the Lady Lions. Evans paced the Lady Lions with two walks. Overall, the teams had patience at the plate, pilling up seven walks for the game. Bargo, Evans, Laws, Johnson, Smith and Johnson each stole multiple bases for Pineville. The Lady Lions ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 22 stolen bases for the game. The Lady Lions didn't commit a single error in the game.

 

Allie Wilson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Williamsburg with two runs batted in. The 3 hole hitter went 1-3 on the day. Wilson, Katlyn Moses, Monhollen, Angel Stephens, and Jasine Stephens each colleted one hit for the Lady Jackets. The Lady Jackets had seven stolen bases, and had one double play on defense.

 

The Lady Lions will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Harlan, KY to take on the Harlan Lady Dragons game time at 6:00 PM
