
In another impressive display of resilience and skill, Whitley County continued their winning ways with a hard-fought victory over Elliot County, prevailing 7-6 in a thrilling matchup.
The game started with Whitley County taking an early lead, thanks to a single by Morgan Huddleston that drove in a crucial run. However, Elliot County quickly responded, reclaiming the lead with Alyssa Howard scoring after tagging up and Kinley Offill delivering a single to drive in another run in the top of the second inning.
Despite facing a deficit of 6-2 in the sixth inning, Whitley County refused to back down. With determination and grit, they mounted a remarkable comeback. The pivotal moment came when Clara Pittman stepped up to the plate and unleashed an inside-the-park grand slam, driving in four runs and turning the tide in Whitley's favor.
The offensive firepower didn't stop there. Amber Brown hit an inside the park home run also in the same inning putting Whitley up for good 7-6. Ultimately securing the hard-earned victory.
With this win, Whitley County goes to 8-5. As they prepare for their next challenge at the Cal Ripken Experience.
