Lady Colonels defeat Pike County Central Lady Hawks 8-3

(Pigeon Forge, TN) It's game number 3 of the Cal Ripken Experience for the Lady Colonels today's opponent is the Pike County Central Lady Hawks

 

Pike County Central Lady Hawks got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning after Chloe Hannah doubled, and Hannah May singled, each scoring one run.

 

Lady Hawks added one run in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 3-0 Pike County Central.

 

Morgan Huddleston singled on an 0-2 count, which helped the Lady Colonels tie the game at 3 in the top of the fifth inning.

 

In the top of the sixth inning, Whitley County Lady Colonels broke up the tie when Kara Canada hit an inside the park homerun, scoring two runs, then an error followed to extend the Lady Colonels lead 7-3.

 

Kara Canada stepped in the circle first for the Lady Colonels, she surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Chloe Hannah started the game for the Lady Hawks. They gave up 14 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out 14 and walking none. Caylee Singleton pitched two innings of scoreless ball for the Lady Colonels in relief, surrendering zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

 

Lady Colonels piled up 14 hits in the game. Canada led the Lady Colonels with two runs batted in from the number 8 spot in the lineup, she went 2-4 on the day as well. Singleton and Huddleston each collected three hits in four at bats.

 

Hannah, May, and Cailyn Holbrook each drove in one run for the Lady Hawks. Abby Hess went 2-3 at the plate.
