Black Bears fall in back to back game in Atlanta, GA

(Atlanta, GA) The Harlan County Black Bears had two games today one was against Arch Bishop Modeller (Cincinnati), OH and DePaul College Prep (Chicago), IL

 

DePaul College Prep (Chicago), IL

In game number one the Harlan County Black Bears battled up against the DePaul College Prep (Chicago), IL Rams.

 

Rams got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Addison Latko singled, Griffin Horne doubled, and Aidan Ball doubled, each scoring one run. The Rams scored 10 runs on nine hits in the bottom of the second inning. Vance Kurokawa grounded out, scoring one run. Beni Espinosa doubled, scoring one run. Griffin Horne doubled, scoring two runs. Alexi Phillips tripled, scoring one run. Charlie Pribyl singled, scoring one run. Owen Rog tripled, scoring two runs. Vance Kurokawa singled, scoring one run. Addison Latko singled, scoring one run.

 

Rams added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Rog singled, scoring one run. Kurokawa singled, scoring one run. Espinosa doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Cole Shashoua earned the win for the rams, he gave up two hits and zero runs over two and two thirds innings, striking out five and walking none. Zayden Casolari took the loss for the Black Bears, he went one and two-thirds innings, giving up nine runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out none and walking one.

 

Mason Himes and Will Cassim each collected one hit for the Black Bears. Jonah Swanner stole two bases.

 

The Rams collected  18  hits in the game. Espinosa and Kurokawa were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for the Rams. Horne, Espinosa, Rog, and Kurokawa each drove in three runs. Latko, Ball, and Pribyl each collected multiple hits. Latko stole two bases.

Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati), OH

(Atlanta, GA) This was game number 2 for the Harlan County Black Bears

 

Archbishop Moeller got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Forrest Day singled, scoring one run. Carter Christeson drew a walk, scoring one run. Conner Cuozzo singled, scoring one run. Cooper Ridley singled, scoring one run. Will Schirmer singled, scoring two runs, Christeson drew a walk, scoring one run, Cuozzo doubled, scoring two runs. Ridley doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Aiden Craig pitched three and one-third innings in relief for the Black Bears, he gave up three hits and two runs while, striking out one and walking one. Mason Himes opened the game for Harlan County. He surrendered seven hits and 11 runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking  out one and walking five. Jonah Swanner and Himes each collected two hits for the Black Bears.

 

Archbishop Moeller tallied 10 hits in the game. Cuozzo drove the middle of the lineup with three runs batted in and also went 2-3 on the day. Day, Ridley, and Cuozzo each collected two hits for Archbishop Moeller. Jovan Love paced the team with three walks (Had 6 walks for the game). Day and Ridley each stole multiple bases for Archbishop Moeller (had eight stolen bases for the game).
