Panthers edge Highland Regional 4-1

(Myrtle Beach, SC) Its the final game of the Cal Ripken Experience for the Knox Central Panthers there final opponent is the Highland Regional, NJ.

 

Panthers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Hayden Melton doubled, John Havis singled, Cayden Collins walked, and Waylon Fraizer hit into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

 

Zach Carroll stepped on to the mound for the Panthers, he allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Jacob Osborne pitched one and two-thirds innings of no run ball for the Panthers in relief, he surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking three.

 

Brady Engle and Hayden Melton were a force together in the lineup as each player collected two hits for the Panthers.

 

Ian Roberson led Highland Regional with one run batted in, and going 1-3 on the day. Luis Sellers-Rodgriguez, Tommy Formisano, Kory Jenkins, Ian Roberson, and Logan Davenport each collected one hit for Highland Regional.

 

Up Next for the Panthers they will be back in action on April 8 as they travel to London, KY to take on the North Laurel Jaguars gametime at 6:00 PM
