
(Bowling Green, KY) Whitley County Colonels travel out to Bowling Green to take on the Purples of Bowling Green.
Purples opened the scoring in the first after Ethan Madison doubled, scoring one run. They added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Drew Isenberg singled, Ethan Madison was hit by a pitch, Max Buchanon singled, and Drew Isenberg scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
Purples scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Trey Walton and Luke Idlett to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, an error scored one run, Evan Schallert singled, scoring two runs, and Max Buchanon drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hunter Wilson homered to left field, scoring three runs in the top of the sixth inning for the Colonels.
Max Buchanon earned the win for the Bowling Green Purples, he allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. Walton pitched three innings in relief for the Colonels. He allowed three hits and five runs (two earned) while, striking out one and walking two. Christian Wilson took the loss for the Colonels, he went one and one-third innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking one.
Wilson drove the middle of the lineup, going 2-3 on the day with 3 runs batted in for the Colonels.
Bowling Green had nine hits in the game. Madison provided the power in the middle of the line up going 1-3 on the day with two runs batted in. Schallert led the Purples with three hits in five at bats from the lead off position.
