What a game from Corbin High School between the Middlesboro Lady Jackets and the Corbin Lady Redhounds.
Danni Foley had a solid game in the circle for the Lady Redhounds, striking out 11 not giving up a hit and not up a run. The defense from both teams. It was a solid team effort from both teams. Both teams gave themselves opportunities to win the game.
"Hats off to Middlesboro's Pitcher Kaylee Lawson, pitched an awesome game and had my girls off balance." Corbin Head Coach Crystal Stidham said.
Kennedie Guiher came up big for Corbin tonight, she had the only hit for the Lady Redhounds, it was the biggest one of the night when the Lady Redhounds had the bases loaded and they had Raegan Walker was on third base in the bottom of the seventh inning. Raegan Walker got aboard and giving herself in position to help her team get a chance to win the game. Noodles was able to get aboard to get an an intentional walk by Anela Sanders. Then entered Kennedie. She came to the plate with her team needing to put one in play when she hits a shot to Center field allowing Raegan Walker to get the game winning RBI.
"So proud of her and all of our ladies for their defense, their fight to get it done, and Kennedie having the poise we needed to get this win! Let's go Lady Redhounds!!" Corbin Head Coach Crystal Stidham said.
Lawson went 6.2 innings, had 1 hit, only giving up 1 run striking out 2 batters, and walking one.
Foley improves to 10-7 on the year, Lawson goes to 5-4 on the year.
Corbin will improve to 12-14 on the year, Middlesboro will fall to 10-14 on the year.
